What is an Asphalt Drum Mix Plant?
An Asphalt Drum Mix Plant is a continuous mixing plant used for producing hot mix asphalt, which is primarily used in road construction and repair works.
These plants are designed for uninterrupted operation and uniform mixing of aggregates, bitumen, and fillers.
Features of Gajjar Asphalt Drum Mix Plants
• Manufactured using the latest technology conforming to MORT&H and international standards
• Fully automatic operation with manual override capabilities
• High-accuracy cold aggregate feeder bins with individual variable speed control
• Glass wool insulated dryer drum with stainless steel cladding for heat retention
• Two-stage auto burner (Optional: modulating burner for better fuel efficiency)
• Advanced microprocessor-based electronic control panel with AC drive systems
• Continuous production from 30 TPH to 160 TPH capacity range
Working Principle of Asphalt Drum Mix Plant
1. Feeding & Weighing Aggregates
Virgin aggregates (sand, gravel, crushed stone) are weighed using automated belt systems controlled via electronic sensors. These are then conveyed to the drying drum.
2. Drying & Heating
The aggregates pass through a primary drying zone where heat from the burner removes moisture and heats the material.
3. Mixing with Bitumen
In the secondary zone of the drum, heated aggregates are blended with bitumen. Internal paddles ensure thorough and consistent mixing.
4. Continuous Asphalt Mix Discharge
The final asphalt mix is transferred to a surge bin or silo via conveyors. This ensures a continuous, streamlined output ready for use.
